Why Exhibit

Discover the booming luxury goods marketplace

Recognising the wealth of business opportunities present in Vietnam’s rapidly developing and largely unpenetrated luxury products sector, International Jewelry + Watch Vietnam (IJV) is the brand new event developed specifically for Vietnam and the neighboring regions.
IJV will provide the much-needed face-to-face gathering for networking and conducting business with your potential clients and a selected group of leading jewelry retailers in Vietnam. This event is targeted to attract retailers and major department stores as well as private collectors from Viet Nam and the rest 9 ASEAN member countries. Our research indicates that retailers and private collectors are eager to attend an event of its kind in Vietnam.

The calculation of all import duty and taxes will be based on the shipment documents (declared invoice CIF value, not actual sold value) provided by the exhibitors to the forwarder/customs broker who will process all related issue with Customs.

As shown above, the import duty rate to be applied varies depending on their origin:

  • MFN (Most Favoured Nation): for goods imported from countries which have signed the MFN in commercial trading with Vietnam declared by the exhibitor who is responsible for such declaration. Imported goods not included in the MFN list countries will be subject to higher rate.
  • CEPT: for goods imported from ASEAN countries under AFTA scheduled from 2006—2013. C.O. Form D is required.
  • ACFTA: under the commercial agreement between China — ASEAN applied to goods imported from China. C.O. Form E is required
  • AKFTA: under the commercial agreement between Korea — ASEAN applied to goods imported from Korea. C.O. Form AK is required
  • Exhibitors who plan to bring in different exhibits to the IJV other than shown above are required to contact the organizers or the official forwarder/customs broker in advance so that clarification can be made with Vietnam Customs on the applicable rates to be applied and also whether such items are actually legally able to be brought into Vietnam.
  • No C.O. is required for exhibit brought in for display only.
Important Note: The organizers, forwarders and or customs broker reserves the right to vary or amend the aforesaid information without prior notice

Top 9 reasons to join the IJV:

  1. Vietnam mainly relies mainly on imports since they do not have jewelry and timepiece industries.
  2. Growth of bridal jewelry demand will be dramatic over the next decade, because half of the populations are under age 35.
  3. Import and re-export procedures of exhibit are easy and simple. Handcarry is available (through the official customs brokers designated by the organizers and they will assist you upon arrival at Ho Chi Minh international airport).
  4. International exhibitors are allowed to sell and delivery their exhibits at the exhibition (usually cash transactions in U.S. dollars).
  5. No customs duties, taxes or VAT are applied upon entry to Vietnam. Customs duties, taxes and VAT are only applied on sold items, and all duties and taxes will be paid through the international broker designated by the organisers on the last day of the exhibition.
  6. Customs duties, taxes/VAT based on declared invoice CIF value only (not actual sold value).
  7. Products from Mainland China (Certificates of Origin – Form E required) could enjoy preferential import duty at 1% - 20% in 2009. Starting from 1 January 2010, you could enjoy a more favorable rate from 0% - 5%. ( For example: if the declared invoice CIF value of a 18K white gold diamond ring is USD100, the total import duties, tax/ VAT have to pay is USD 38).
  8. Products from ASEAN could enjoy preferential import duty at 0% - 5%.
  9. The show date coincides with the peak holiday shopping season in Vietnamese market, and most retailers are expected to start replenishing inventory for the Vietnamese Lunar New Year (February 14, 2010).
